OVERDOSE DEATHS ARE PREVENTABLE!

We have the tools and resources needed to save lives.

NALOXONE 101

Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a life-saving medication that counters the effects of an opioid overdose. It is available as both a nasal spray and an injectable.

Naloxone only works if there are opioids involved with the OD.  It cannot reverse an OD of cocaine, speed, benzos, alcohol or other non-opioid based drugs.

Overdose can be reserved, if you know what to do and you act in time. Whether you use drugs, love someone who does, or just care about the members of your community, it’s important to be prepared in case you encounter someone who is overdosing.

Although traditionally administered by emergency response personnel, naloxone can be administered by minimally trained laypeople, which makes it ideal for treating overdose in people who have been prescribed opioid pain medication and in people who use heroin and other opioids. Learn how to administer naloxone, request a group or individual training.
